Illegal Immigrants by Job Type

The following graph from the Pew Center gives a very rough estimate of where illegals fall in the job marketplace. It is based on their data subset so it does appear by many that the numbers may be low for some areas.  It does show that they do work in the many lower paying jobs. This does bolster the idea that Chavez and others had that this would keep the wages down for these positions.

These numbers most likely do not show the number of illegal immigrants who work off the books or under the table. We estimate that to be anywhere from 40 to 60 percent in many areas of the country.
